Junior Coaching Sessions

At Gosforth we run Newcastle's largest and most interactive weekly junior sessions at a cost of only £2 per session. 

Make New Friends

With up to 30 students each session it's easy to make new friends who share the same interest.

Coaching Team

Our head coach is Mick who oversees most session, as well as Mick we have 6 coaches (each DBS checked) that may take a class.  Each session will have a minimum of two experienced coaches.

Tournaments

Some weeks we will run long play games that will give the students experiance in playing standard games as well as an ECF chess rating.

1st Junior Competition

July 7th 2024 will had our first junior competition, an amazing 42 Juniors attended and the final standings are below:

ECF Junior Club!!

We are proud to announce that we have been accepted as an official ECF Junior Club!! 

Training

The sessions are a mixture of games between the students, puzzle based scenarios and lectures by the on duty coaches.

 

Team Games

Join the only junior team in the Northumberland Chess Assosiation. As well as competing in Division 5 our Jedi's team also takes part in summer competitions.
