To thank everybody for the continued brilliant turn outs and atmosphere Monday nights. Nothing like I've ever experienced at a chess club for sure.
Congratulations to Martin Beardsley for his =1 in the Scarborough Minor with 4½ points from 5 games. Great effort and just reward for many years effort.
At the end of November we'll be cutting our circulation list down to members only unless you wish to keep an eye on what we're up to. If that's the case please let me know.
And one ask. If you have any old picture frames you no longer require please can I have them I'm looking to build up a little chess gallery to brighten the place up on Mondays nights.
Just one league match Monday, which saw our Centurions beat Ivy 2½-1½. But a big turn out with plenty of club, county and ladder competition games.
On the Saturday we had a lower than average turn out but still raised £205 for Cafe Beam - http://smileforlife.org.uk/
This was our third charity event for 2023, the next will be likely Feb 24. Winners from left Tom Cameron (U1800), Lev Drobiazko (U1400) and James McKay (Overall).
Before then Juniors was well attended and the introduction of mini white boards to our lesson time seemed well received - thank you Jonathan for this suggestion.
Reminder Saturday, money raised goes to Cafe Beam at top of Salters Rd. Please support us if you can

No prize money but nice mementos for winners. All money raised that day, including junior club, will be donated and I hope you can support this event.
